A mother and her daughter defended themselves with their own handguns after a would-be robber entered their family-owned liquor store with a sawed-off shotgun in an attempt to rob them.
On Thursday evening, Tyrone Lee, 36, entered Forest Acres Liquor Store and held Tina Ring, 53, and her daughter Ashley Lee, 30, at gunpoint as he attempted to rob their register.
Once he seemed as though he was going to leave, the women pulled their guns from under the counter and began firing at him.

‘They shot him multiple times and he kept coming,’ Tulsa Police Sgt. Brandon Watkins told KFOR.
Lee, apparently lost so much blood that he simply ended his struggle with the women and drove himself to the hospital.
He sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
He was placed in a medically induced coma at the hospital and was later charged with armed robbery and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

“Violent criminals like Tyrone Lee are a threat to the lives of every Oklahoman. This robbery could have ended in tragedy, but it ended with justice,” said U.S. Attorney Trent Shores. “We are pleased the court handed down a sentence of 22 years in federal prison. Chalk this up as another success story for Project Safe Neighborhoods, as another ‘Alpha criminal’ was removed from our Tulsa streets.”
Lee pleaded guilty to four counts related to his crimes and was sentenced to 22 years in federal prison.
