SCCY Industries DVG-1RD
Having started in 2003, SCCY Industries focused on the creation of double-action, hammer-fired pistols chambered in 9 mm Luger and .380 ACP. These guns were durable, affordable and could be had in a range of color combinations for added personalization. Knowing that the long and heavy double-action trigger-pull of a hammer-fired gun isn’t for everyone, the DVG-1 was created. It is the first striker-fired offering from SCCY Industries and you can see it in use on the range in the video above.
Externally, the striker-fired DVG-1 looks similar to SCCY’s hammer-fired CPX series of guns, but there are a number of enhancements that make it an attractive option for concealed carry. Of course, the standout feature is the light, crisp striker-fired trigger. Because the DVG-1 lacks a hammer spring like its CPX sibling, the pistol has a smaller grip circumference, making it more comfortable for shooters with smaller hands.

The DVG-1 features aggressive stippling, allowing the gun to anchor more firmly in a shooter’s hand. Another change from the CPX is the inclusion of cocking serrations at the front of the slide, giving shooters greater flexibility and control in their manipulation of the gun. The DVG-1 shares many features found in Glock’s popular Safe Action design—its standout feature is the light, crisp striker-fired trigger—but one innovation here is the Roebuck Quad-Lock action, which is designed to delay the rearward movement of the slide, thereby softening felt recoil and improving the shooting experience.
The DVG-1RD is scheduled to ship with an included Riton Optics 3 Tactix MPRD 2 red-dot sight. The optic is housed into a specially machined cutout at the rear of the slide and features an aluminum housing with an integrated rear-sight notch that aligns with the gun’s white-dot front sight, providing a built-in back-up sighting solution. For the purist, SCCY catalogs its DVG-1 without optic capability at a reduced MSRP.
On the range, the DVG-1 design made a clear difference in our shooting experience. The optic-equipped sighting system proved to be intuitive and the gun’s enhanced texturing on the frame, combined with the finger grooves, are welcomed features.
