CNN Cancels Interview with Pro-Gun Parkland Student

In the wake of the terrible mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, CNN set itself up as the most important anti-gun rights platform the nation has seen in years.

The network gave several of the anti-gun freedom leftist students carte blanche on their station and have allowed those students to spew the most nonsensical arguments against gun rights that have ever been uttered in the debate over the 2nd Amendment. Not only that, CNN allowed these students complete freedom to impugn and attack respected members of our national community based solely on the fact that the people they were demeaning were supporters of the 2nd Amendment.

After weeks of criticism for their one-sided coverage of the issue, CNN finally booked one of the pro-gun survivors of the Parkland attack… only to cancel their interview with him hours later.

Kyle Kashuv is a well-spoken teenager who can hold his own in any conversation about firearms and the 2nd Amendment, as he proved in a discussion of the issue with former CNN talking head, Piers Morgan.

Sadly, Kashuv won’t get a chance to make his case on CNN, because they simply can’t believe that he retweeted his favorite sports talk radio personality, Clay Travis (who also happens to be banned from CNN… for saying “boobs” while on the air).

One of those people that CNN has allowed to be attacked, demeaned, and defamed without any opportunity for defense or to offer a different narrative is Dana Loesch. Loesch is a conservative talk radio host, a spokeswoman for the NRA, and a very popular figure on the right. She’s also a wife and a mother and a respected member of the pundit-class that often appears on the major news networks.

She quickly waded iintothe Twitter controversy over CNN’s decision to disinvite Kashuv, chiding CNN for dismissing him over something as trivial as a retweet.

The article that got Kashuv disinvited quoted sports journalist, Clay Travis, calling CNN “fake news hypocrites.” Apparently, CNN’s has some very thin skin.

Travis added his two cents to the brouhaha, sounding a note of sarcastic surprise that CNN would ban someone just for retweeting something that he had said.

While CNN won’t talk to him, Kashuv has appeared on Fox News. In his interview there he was promoting a school safety bill that he and other supporters believe could help make our schools safer.

The bill has nothing to do with guns or the 2nd Amendment, and is supported by the majority of the families of the victims of the Parkland shooting… but you won’t hear that bit of news on CNN.

The media has been lavishing attention on the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students who support gun control, but in the meantime, the families of the victims of last month’s shooting have been working with diligence and unity to support legislative reforms.

Despite the much lesser media spotlight, their efforts have been paying off: a bill passed in Florida, and they have high hopes for similar success at the federal level.

The Students, Teachers, and Officers Preventing (STOP) School Violence Act was co-sponsored by a bipartisan group of Senators, including Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL), and funds the creation of Threat Assessment Teams (TATs) to train students, teachers, and other school staff to properly identify and respond to threats against schools.

Additional funding is allocated for increased school security measures and creation of anonymous reporting systems.

The victims’ families are united in their support for this legislation.

Here’s Kashuv talking about the bill on Fox News:

That school safety bill just passed in an overwhelmingly bipartisan manner.

While the mainstream (leftwing) media is focused on undermining (and ending) the 2nd Amendment, folks like Kyle Kashuv and the families of the victims of the Parkland shooting, are focused on real solutions to real problems.

Stop listening to CNN. Stop paying heed to the leftist anti-gun rights students whose sole desire is to strip you of your freedom.

Start paying attention to the folks who actually want to talk about the real reasons these terrible things happen, and what we can do to keep them from happening again.

CNN should be ashamed of itself. Kyle Kashuv is the one Douglas High School student currently speaking out that is actually worth listening to.
