Hi-Point Firearms, a company known for its affordable American-made handguns and rifles, has released its most powerful handgun to date: the 10 mm Auto JXP 10. The JXP 10 is Hi-Point’s second 10 mm-chambered firearm, following the 1095 carbine the company introduced in 2017. Both 10 mm rifle and handgun share the same 10-round magazine.

Overall, the JXP follows the basic Hi-Point pattern with its polymer frame, alloy slide and steel barrel with a single-action, striker-fired mechanism. Beyond its chambering, several features set the JXP 10 apart from other Hi-Point pistols. The handgun is offered with an extended 5.20” barrel, threaded .578×28 TPI and supplied with a thread protector, or a 4.5” non-threaded barrel.

The JXP 10 will be offered in both threaded-barrel (pictured) and non-threaded-barrel configurations.

The front sight is Glock-compatible, and the rear is fully adjustable, with front and rear highlighted with contrasting colors. The rear sight can be replaced with a short section of Picatinny rail (available as an accessory from Hi-Point’s website) to allow for the mounting of optics. Hi-Point notes that optic adapter plates are planned for the future.

The re-contoured slide features front and rear serrations. The pistol’s grip panels have an “enhanced-texture” stippling and an M1913 Picatinny accessory rail runs the length of the frame’s dustcover. The manual safety lever is enlarged, too. At 49 ozs., it’s also the heaviest handgun that Hi-Point makes, the weight necessitated by the JXP’s blowback design.

The Hi-Point JXP 10 has an MSRP of $225 for either threaded or non-threaded models, which means it slips in under the 1095 carbine as the most affordable 10 mm firearm on the market.
