A Lauderhill, Fla., man acted in self-defense when an alleged intruder forced his way into a residence on May 15, 2022.
Around 11 p.m. that Sunday evening, two residents were inside the home when an intruder climbed through a window. The stranger then produced a firearm, spurring once of the residents to dial 911 before quickly hanging up. The resident also managed to arm himself, and exchanged gunfire with the would-be robber inside the home.
During this exchange, the resident managed to strike the intruder with his fire. When authorities arrived later on to check up on the emergency dialing from the home, they found the armed intruder, deceased from his wounds. (nbcmiami.com, Miami, Fla., 05/16/2022)

Recognizing a shotgun-wielding robber as the man who had held up his Houston, Texas, store less than a month earlier, a convenience store clerk decided twice was enough. Instead of handing over the cash, the clerk drew a pistol, fired and then held the wounded man for police. A suspect was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery. Investigators believed the suspect was connected with several other area robberies. (The Chronicle, Houston, Texas)
